A contemporary single-story house that opens onto the garden and glows like a lantern at dusk.

The brief was a family home in Residencial El Encanto that made the most of the lot's frontage and its relationship with the street without giving up privacy. The result is a horizontal house of straight-lined volumes that step along the lot and define each zone of the home; parapets hide the tile roofs so the street reads a clean, contemporary silhouette.

01
Stepped volumes
Straight-lined masses that organize the façade and separate social and private areas.
02
Warm materials
White plaster, dark gray volumes and wood cladding.
03
Floor-to-ceiling windows
Large glass panels that fill the interiors with light.
04
Carport with lattice
A glass roof and perforated panels that filter light and give the entrance character.

Concrete retaining walls and a horizontal wood fence handle the slope of the lot, while the front garden acts as a green buffer between the house and the street. Modulare's scope was the architectural design of the home.
