A glamping retreat in the mountains of Apaneca, designed for short stays where the landscape is the experience.
The client owned a forested hillside lot and wanted to turn it into a short-term rental destination, Airbnb style, with a clear concept: the comfort of a boutique hotel with the feeling of sleeping in the middle of the mountain.
The units sit on different levels of the site so each has its own privacy and view, with minimal earthworks. A common fire-pit area, set into a curved concrete wall and covered by shade sails, becomes the gathering point as the sun goes down. Modulare's scope was the design of the retreat: site layout, lodging units and landscaping.
